Sunday on our own

Sunday was a day off. After a busy week everyone got to spend the day on their own. Some went to the flower and bird market, some went to Versailles, others to the American Cathedral in Paris, a concert in St. Chapelle, Mt. Saint Michel,  Still others to destinations unknown!😍

The Flower Market

The tradition of attaching locks is alive and well - saw them everywhere.

A violin concerto...three violins, one viola, one cello and a harpsichord.  They played Bach and Mozart.  The location was Saint Chapelle followed by dinner at a bistro. Stunning!

Saint Chapelle

Jennie Jones attended the oldest English speaking church in Paris- the American Cathedral -nearly 130 years old.  It is home for the Episcopal church of Europe.  There are 23 Episcopal churches in Europe.  Jennie's sister-in-law's cousin is Bishop Mark D.W. Edington.  He was installed in April, but this was his first time presiding and preaching at the church in Paris.  He and his wife do live in Paris, formerly lived in Massachusetts.  It was Pentecost Sunday, so the celebration was special and lots of red.  The music was gorgeous...the organ and the choir...very reverent and classic.
