Orangerie, Musee d'Orsay, et le Musee Rodin: MONET, Renoir, Cezanne, Degas, Cassat, Morisot and those other famous painters!

How much is too much art, beauty, wonder and genius? We get to experience sensory overload and it is luxurious, marvelous, amazing, beyond words. Today the Orangerie, the Musée D’Orsay, and The Rodin museum including the beautiful rose garden that is graced by his famous sculptures. The persistent rain has not kept us from enjoying these wonderful places.  I didn’t even mention the food!

Here are a “few” photos from the group with more to come.

The Orangerie - the beautiful eliptical water lily paintings created by Monet to give  people in the city a sense of being in his garden.

There are so many works of art, it is simply a visual feast.  I'd like 2nds please!

We headed out on foot to the Rodin Museum, about a half hour walk in the mist from the Musee d'Orsay.  We arrived in a downpour.  Most went inside to the coffee shop. Some headed for the garden. I, Jerie, took a photo safari in the rain and was rewarded with amazing photos of the garden, especially the rose garden.  Roses, dripping with rain drops.  Exquisite beauty.

The Thinker

Stephen and Ginger also braved the rain for photos!

The Burghers of Calais sculpture created to represent a moment in history - 1346AD, when King Edward III said he would spare the city of Calais if six of it's leaders would surrender.  It's a fascinating story to read.
